We're excited to share the latest innovation from YouTube Music that's set to revolutionize the way we interact with music!
As of now, users can hum into the app on Android and iOS to identify a track, thanks to the new music recognition feature. This feature, initially teased last year and available via Google since 2020, has finally been fully released, making it easier for us to discover new music and connect with our community.
How does it work?
Simply tap the magnifying glass in the corner of the app, hum a song stuck in your head, and the app will return results based on the probability of the match. You can also sing the song if you know the words or even play it on an instrument. This feature builds on previously released tech from Google via MusicLM, which lets users generate music from either a text prompt or a hum.
YouTube Music is also experimenting with more AI and music recognition tools. Premium subscribers in the US can look forward to a new feature that lets you create custom radio stations by verbally describing the kind of music you'd like to hear. Imagine being able to create a playlist that perfectly captures your mood or style!

Absolute game changer! Idk how many times I've only remembered the hum of a song!
